It has long been said that the hairdressing industry is either under represented or not represented at all on a national basis. A new entity that offers an unbiased, dedicated focus on the betterment of the industry is well overdue. The Australian Hairdressing Council (AHC) was created to fill this void in our industry. The creation of the AHC followed on from a meeting held in November 2006, facilitated by Service Skills Australia and subsequently an industry think tank where a recommendation was put forward to establish a National Industry Body.
